Girls Weekend on the Wine Highway

Welcome to the blog feature on our website! Brent and I are so happy to share some of our favorite moments from the Lodge. We will use space to share recipes, track progress on our upcoming projects and connect with our guests. Look for a new post each week.

Let me take you on a journey of our recent guest experience as we hosted our first #winetour during the Wine Highway.

The view from Fainting Goat Vineyard as we kicked off Wine Highway

The last two weekends of March, something extra special happens in the North Georgia mountains, #winehighway. Wine Highway is a passport a guest can purchase that allows them to do a tasting at 28 wineries across North Georgia. We promoted both weekends of the Wine Highway as the perfect weekend for a #girltribe getaway.

One of our former guests, Beverly saw the promotion on social media and organized a weekend to meet up with some of her friends at #benttreelodge. We are so glad she did! As part of their weekend, they added on a picnic lunch and hired us to be their guides for the day. We provided transportation so they did not have to worry about a thing. Seriously, ya'll the girls woke up, got ready for the day and got in the car after having a nice hearty breakfast.

We started our day at #faintinggoatvineyards in Jasper at 11:30. (You can't drink all day unless you start early.) The ladies enjoyed their tasting so much they purchased a bottle to enjoy on the deck. The weather and the view was absolutely perfect!

Our next stop was #cartecayvineyard

The ladies enjoyed a snack at this stop while they sipped on wine slushies.

Each of our stops along the Wine Highway featured live music. The weather really was perfect for our #winetour! Our next stop #chateaumeichtry

The best part of the day for Brent was the smiles and laughter as he escorted these great friends throughout their tour.

We had two other guests along for the day as well. Jessica works with me at Taylor Road Middle School and she brought along her long time friend, Sherita. These ladies rode with me and enjoyed their time at our next stop the beautiful #ottfarmvineyard.

The views from Ott Farm were spectacular!

Ott Farm Vineyard was the only winery on our tour that Brent and I had not visited yet. We did a tasting and were not disappointed. We will definitely be back!

The ladies enjoyed their picnic at Ott Farm

During our stop at Ott Farm, the ladies enjoyed their picnic lunch which included chicken salad croissants, chips, bourbon maple salad, grapes and some fresh cinnamon bread for dessert. This was definitely the perfect spot for their picnic!

Our last stop of the day was #engelheimvineyards

The view from the vines at Engleheim

We were able to visit 5 of the 6 wineries that are within a 25 minute drive from the Lodge. Our tour included Fainting Goat, Caretcay, Chateau Meichtry, Ott Farm and Engleheim. We ran out of time or we would have visited Sharp Mountain Vineyard.

After a quick stop at the Lodge to freshen up, the ladies enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants, Home. The ladies gave the day two thumbs up!

Started the day as strangers and ended as friends.

We would love to host your next #girlsweekend at the Lodge! Contact us for information about pricing to add on your very own #winetour with your #girltribe
